WILLEMSTAD - On Thursday, August 25, the Governor of Curacao, H.E. Lucille George-Wout, awarded the Medal of Honor in bronze to Mr. Brian Pietersz.
This recognition was awarded on 18 June 2022 by Prime Minister Rutte and Minister of Defense Ollongren in the Netherlands to a group of men and women of Dutchbat III. During this ceremony, on behalf of Prime Minister Rutte, almost 27 years after the fall of Srebrenica, apologies were also made to the members of Dutchbat III.
Unfortunately, Mr. Pietersz was not able to be present on that day, so that he was still able to receive his Decoration of Honor at the Governor's Palace.
