Hospital employees want clarity

Local | By Correspondent October 16, 2019

WILLEMSTAD - The staff employed at the laboratory of the St. Elisabeth Hospital (Sehos) has called a strike today. They want clarity about their pension money.

Two weeks ago, it was promised that the overdue payments would be made available immediately, but this did not happen yet.

According to Financial Director Elvis Thode, the payment from Social Insurance Bank (SVB) to the pension insurer did not immediately go well, but the money is on its way. The staff wants a written statement on this. They are also concerned about the funds that that needs to be transferred to them afterward.

Thode emphasizes that the situation does not further endanger healthcare. The staff would work according to a schedule so that this is not a risk.
