Local | By Correspondent December 20, 2022

WILLEMSTAD - Three human traffickers were most recently convicted in Sint Maarten. In addition to smuggling people, they were also convicted of money laundering and possession of child pornography.

Prison sentences range from three to six years. The Public Prosecution Service sees human smuggling as a serious crime. The lives of others are endangered for personal gain. People who nevertheless choose to use smugglers are warned by the Public Prosecution Service. Besides being illegal, they are also at risk.
