Humanitarian hub treaty extended by one year

Local | By Correspondent May 19, 2020

WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao remains available as a humanitarian hub for Venezuela. This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Relations of the Dutch Kingdom Stef Blok.

Curaçao's commitment to providing humanitarian aid to Venezuela is governed by a treaty between The United States of America, the Netherlands and Curaçao. That expired on March 15 and is now being renewed retroactively from that date for another year.

With this agreement, the United States will have access to Curacao to storage and transshipment facilities for humanitarian goods intended for Venezuela.
