"If CBCS rectifies, Schoop-Isenia will not file a complaint"

Local | By Correspondent May 10, 2019

WILLEMSTAD - If the central bank rectifies, former candidate minister Neysa Schoop-Isenia will not file a complaint against them. That's according to her lawyer Michael Bonaparte.

This week, Schoop-Isenia pulled out as a candidate for the post of Minister of Economic Development due to a conflict with the bank. A memo with allegations towards her ended up with Minister of Finance Kenneth Gijsbertha. According to lawyer Bonaparte, they have broken the confidentiality obligation and he is filing a lawsuit this week on behalf of Schoop-Isenia. “Unless they rectify.”

However, if the central bank acknowledged that they had leaked the memo, this would mean that they might run into problems with the Supervisory Board to which they must account.
