WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao’s Project Team for Supervision and Enforcement (PTH) intervened last Friday to stop illegal construction activities in the Sabana Baka area, dismantling a foundation and placing concrete slabs into custody.
According to PTH, the case involved the illegal occupation of government-owned land and construction work carried out without the required permits. Despite a previously issued work ban and an official stop order at the site, construction activities continued.
By the time authorities intervened, those involved had already completed the foundation and were preparing to pour concrete. To prevent further illegal building, PTH dismantled the concrete formwork on site. The project team has also indicated that preparations are underway to remove the foundation entirely from the government land.
PTH once again urged residents to comply with existing regulations and to refrain from illegally occupying government property or carrying out construction without the necessary permits. The team emphasized that enforcement actions will continue to ensure compliance with planning and building laws across the island.
