WILLEMSTAD - The Ministry of Justice has transferred some 50 Venezuelans to the sports hall of the police station in Rio Canario. Previously it was considered whether the old St. Elisabeth Hospital (Sehos) could offer a solution, but that location is too unsafe due to medical waste.
The prison barracks were overcrowded after three intercepted landings earlier this week. Reportedly, the police are not happy that they can no longer exercise and have informed their union. The sports hall is guarded by soldiers from the military barracks at Parera.
