WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao economy will grow by 1.2 percent this year compared to 2022. That is predicted by the Ministry of Economic Development (MEO). This is evident from the Economic Outlook that was recently released.
MEO expects inflation to fall to 2.9 percent. These figures do not take into account the reopening of the refinery. There are several risks to the island's economic growth, including the situation in Ukraine, but also the reduction in the number of seats for European tourists. In order to deal with the potential risks and to further strengthen the economic recovery, an economic and a National Recovery Plan are being drawn up.
