WILLEMSTAD - Despite the fact that the number of homes that are vacant on Curacao fell between 2011 and 2017, that is precisely not the case in the city center. This is according to research from the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS).
CBS investigated the housing market because, according to the agency, it is opaque.
There are 75,000 homes on the island, of which more than 3100 are vacant. This has fallen by 39 percent compared to 2011, except in the city center. The number of empty properties there has almost doubled from 120 to 236 properties.
