WILLEMSTAD - Minister for Economic Development Giselle Mc William announces that inspections on products in supermarkets and mini-markets will be intensified.
Particular attention will be paid to the prices of the products in the basic basket. The basic basket with 22 products that are free of import duties and sales tax and to the products related to the tax increase of 1 September.
The inspections will therefore mainly be applied to local fruit and vegetables and to alcoholic beverages. The Consumer Foundation will compare and publish the prices of the supermarkets.
