Local | By Correspondent November 4, 2021

WILLEMSTAD - The inspectorate of the Ministries of Economic Development (MEO) and Health, Environment and Nature (GMN) closed two business in Banda Bou on Tuesday. At several minimarkets and restaurants there were a few issues to criticize. These included the Huan Le Minimarket in Pannekoek and Zhou Restaurant near Groot Santa Martha.

In the minimarket in Pannekoek the kitchen was very unhygienic. There were many dead flies, peeled eggs and a thick layer of dust everywhere in the kitchen. The ladies' toilet was used as an illegal game room (gambling). The ladies were asked to go to the men's room.

Restaurant Discover Lagun received a warning because the inspection found certain prices too high. MEO conducted an inspection round together with the Curaçao Police Force (KPC) and the Special Laws Unit of the police (UBW). They checked eleven catering establishments. Two of them have received a warning. Mr. Porter in Nieuwestraat had to reduce the noise level for local residents and three employees at De Heeren in Zuikertuintje were found not to be in possession of a corona QR code.
