WILLEMSTAD - A 24-year-old woman was sentenced yesterday to 50 hours community service and 90 days in prison, 81 of which are conditional.
She was arrested last year when she smuggled drugs into prison. The woman was an intern at the University of Curacao at the time and did an internship in the SDKK prison. There she had befriended a prisoner, for whom she took the drugs.
The woman has now started a new study. Previously, she studied to be a social worker, now she wants to study law to eventually become a lawyer. She says she smuggled in hash twice. The drugs were hidden in her body.
