WILLEMSTAD - On Thursday, March 7, International Women's Day will be celebrated at Punda Vibes. Several catering establishments in Punda sell a special cocktail with part of the proceeds going to charity.
International Women's Day is a global day on which the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women are celebrated. In doing so, equality between women and men is emphasized. The proceeds of the special cocktails go to an organization that helps equality between women and men on Curacao. The good cause is Kas Bruder Pius. This organization offers temporary shelter and day care (crisis care) for pregnant girls and teenage mothers who are in a critical situation where professional guidance is required. The foundation helps the girls to go to school during the day or to follow a program to get them to school or work. In this way, the organization supports young women to keep equal opportunities for the future.
The Downtown Management Organization, which organizes weekly Punda Vibes, and the participating restaurants Iguana Café, bistro Mistral, La Boheme and restaurant de Buren, call on all women (and men) to come and drink the special cocktail next Thursday and to contribute to this good cause.
