Interpol warned CBCS about cyberattack

Local | By Correspondent September 13, 2021

WILLEMSTAD - The Central Bank of Curacao and Sint Maarten (CBCS) was warned in January this year about possible infiltration of their systems, a so-called cyberattack. That a warning had been issued by Interpol was only known after the cyberattack.

As previously reported, CBCS was the victim of a cyberattack on September 5th. To date, little information has come out about it.

Interpol is now involved in the investigation into the cyber attack after it became known that important information had been leaked. It is speculated that this month's cyberattack was carried out by Russian hackers. But according to CBCS, no important information has come out.
