WILLEMSTAD - The investment summit: "Invest in Willemstad" is on its way. The aim of this summit is to promote investment in our historic city center and to attract more residents, tourists, activities, art and culture. Investors, project developers, property owners in Willemstad, potential operators and companies that facilitate this are invited to participate. The investment summit takes place from 10-12 October and is organized by the “Invest in Willemstad” Steering Group in collaboration with VNO-NCW, the largest employers' organization in the Netherlands.
The Invest in Willemstad summit is a follow-up to the successful Bon Bini for Business meeting that took place in January this year. The investment summit was aimed at the entire island, intended for several sectors, and organized by both governments. The event is now focused on Willemstad, a private sector initiative, supported by the government and monument organizations that work together in the “Invest in Willemstad” steering group.
From the Dutch side, VNO-NCW has worked to interest entrepreneurs in being part of the investment mission to Curaçao. A total of 30 participants have registered who will travel to Curaçao under the leadership of Hans de Boer, chairman of VNO-NCW.
From the Curaçao side, with the support of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, successful meetings have been organized with local entrepreneurs to present these investment opportunities in the city center. The districts are Otrobanda, Pietermaai, Punda and Scharloo. Participation can take place as an investor or project developer, as an owner who offers real estate in the historic city, as the operator of a building or business in the city center or as a facilitator such as architects, construction companies and real estate agents.
Through a Business-to-Business Matchmaking App, participants on this investment mission can communicate with each other, make agreements and come into contact with providers of the various investment objects in the city. In total there are more than 30 investment properties ready for investment.
A city does not only consist of stone. That is why the summit also focuses on art and culture in the UNESCO World Heritage City of Willemstad. Museums and officials from the Netherlands Cultural Heritage Agency come from the Netherlands to meet the local cultural sector. Attention is paid, among other things, to the "re-use" of interesting buildings and sites.
There is great interest in participating in this summit and the number of places to participate is limited. There are costs associated with participation. Information about the program, the districts or registration can be found on the website www.investinwillemstad.com.
