WILLEMSTAD - The unions representing the Isla workers demand a series of written guarantees from the Rhuggenaath government within 48 hours.
The most important point in their letter is that the intended candidate to take over the refinery, the Klesch Group, will take over all employees of the refinery at the end of this year.
A motion is being prepared by these unions. In it the government is asked to guarantee that the employees of the Isla will continue to work after January 1, 2020.
If there is still no agreement with the Klesch Group, there could be a temporary extension of the contract with PdVSA.
