WILLEMSTAD - The Isla denies that the refinery can no longer pay salaries after this month. According to spokesperson Earl Balborda, the more than 1000 employees will simply get their salaries until the end of the year, when the lease contract with the government expires.
However, the Isla will cut costs and contracts that expire will no longer be extended. Earlier the spokesman said that the situation is dire because no more crude oil is supplied by Venezuela.
