Isla Refinery spent almost a quarter of a million on maintenance

Local | By Correspondent November 25, 2019

WILLEMSTAD - The Isla Refinery, a subsidiary company of the Venezuelan State Oil Company PDVSA, spent almost a quarter of a million guilders on maintenance in 2017 and 2018. The refinery announced this in a press release.

According to the Isla, the refinery is in good condition. The Isla reports that in 2017 and 2018 a total of 150 million of the maintenance costs went directly to contractors who have a contract with the refinery.

The reason why the refinery was inoperative last weekend was due to problems with the CRU power plant. The refinery was not able to operate Friday morning and Sunday morning.

As is known, the refinery started two large installations for oil processing last week. The problems at the CRU exchange have been resolved since Sunday morning.
