WILLEMSTAD - The new management team of the refinery is led by Jessica Russel-Lucasius.
She was previously part of PMO, the Project Management Organization, which was responsible for the search for and selection of a new refinery operator. PMO acted under the authority of the government company Refineria di Kòrsou (RdK).
Russel-Lucasius leads now a team of managers in charge of the transition after the departure of Petróleos de Venezuela (PdVSA) as the operator, while Klesch Group is preparing itself for the refinery between possibly April and no later than mid-June 2020.
“On January 1, there was no clarity as to whether the Isla managers would transfer to the Curaçao Refinery Utilities (CRU),” said Russel-Lucasius.
In the meantime, several managers from Isla, previously run by PdVSA, have applied to join the CRU. It is therefore a "dynamic situation" in which the management team is constantly being supplemented.
