WILLEMSTAD - The former theater in Willemstad, the Cinelandia may not be demolished for the time being. That is the outcome of the preliminary relief proceedings brought by two monument organizations against the government.
According to the judge, Minister Zita Jesus-Leito acted carelessly and her decision to demolish within a month was not properly motivated.
In her decision, it has not included any of the points that the organizations had already raised years ago, such as preserving the façade and demolishing everything behind it.
