Justice minister loses case against undocumented migrants

Local | By Correspondent December 2, 2022

WILLEMSTAD – The court of justice ruled in favor of a group of ten undocumented migrants yesterday. The undocumented migrants objected to their rejection of a residence permit. Their application for the responsible integration process was rejected because, according to the Ministry of Justice, they do not meet the conditions. Partly because of their low-skilled professions.

The court sees it differently. The undocumented are part of the target group of the policy. The responsible integration policy does not explicitly state that low-skilled professions are excluded. The minister must therefore come up with an adapted policy for this group.
