WILLEMSTAD - Kura Hulanda's staff haven't received a salary this month and there's a good chance they won't see a dime either. May and June could be bridged with the help of Dutch money through the NOW scheme.
But that money hasn't arrived yet. Own funds have run out. Manager Janet Bonet is looking for new funds and has asked the Food Bank for food packages for the staff.
The hotel in Otrobanda has been bankrupt for some time but is being kept open pending renovation. Kura Hulanda has been sold to a combination of local entrepreneurial groups.
