THE HAGUE - The Kingdom Law Disputes Act proposed by Undersecretary for Kingdom Relations Raymond Knops contains such fundamental shortcomings that it is better to start over. That is the message that the Standing Committee for Kingdom Relations of the Second Chamber of the Dutch Parliament received today from the constitutional experts who were invited to a hearing in preparation for a parliamentary debate in a month.
Curaçao, Aruba and Sint Maarten have previously expressed their dissatisfaction with the proposal that has been discussed since 2010. The aim is to arrive at a settlement that can be used if there are disputes between the countries of the Kingdom.
