Knops: Exorbitant salaries do not belong in Curaçao

Local | By Correspondent September 25, 2019

WILLEMSTAD - Exorbitant salaries for directors in Curaçao do not belong there. That is what the Undersecretary Raymond Knops of Kingdom Relations says to questions from the Second Chamber of the Dutch Parliament.

Salaries are an autonomous affair, but due to poor government finances, it is not possible to accept these exorbitant salaries that some of the directors of these government companies earn each month.

Knops has also pointed this out to Prime Minister Rhuggenaath. The Undersecretary is pleased that the Prime Minister also wants to set transparent standards for the remuneration of government directors.
