THE HAGUE - Undersecretary Knops agrees with the islands that the Dutch conditions may not go against the law. If so, emergency legislation can always be made.
The minister writes this in response to the letter from Curaçao and Sint Maarten to agree to the financial support. This amounts to a total of 204 million guilders. 141 million will be paid immediately, the rest is for the wage subsidy to companies.
