Knops on controversial COHO law: Consultations with countries are going very well

THE HAGUE - Undersecretary of Kingdom Relations Raymond Knops is ideally optimistic about rapid completion of consultation with the governments of Curaçao, Aruba and Sint Maarten on the Consensus Kingdom Act for the establishment of the Caribbean Organ for Reform and Development (COHO).

In the legislative consultation with the Second Chamber of Parliament for Kingdom Relations on the Kingdom Relations and BES Fund Annual Report, the undersecretary said that the conversations were "very good" and the countries show a "very constructive" attitude. Subject to the consultation is the reaction of the Kingdom Council of Ministers on the advice of the Council of State.

Although the Council has fundamental reservations at the legislative proposal written by the Netherlands and has raised the question whether it is not at odds with the statute of the statute of "comments that you can take over as criticism."
