Local | By Correspondent June 14, 2021

WILLEMSTAD - The police of Curaçao says that car thefts are again commonplace on the island. Imported cars without security are especially at risk.

According to the Curaçao Car Dealer Association CCDA, thieves usually leave locally purchased cars alone. Most thefts take place for parts. Often on order.

According to the CCDA, it is also too easy to counterfeit car keys. No identification or inspection card is requested.
