KUMUN advocates for new vocational schools

Local | By Correspondent December 4, 2020

WILLEMSTAD - The new political party KUMUN advocates the reintroduction of vocational schools in Curaçao. The party is of the opinion that since the closure of Feffik a few years ago, there has been a lack of options for students who want to follow vocational education on the island.

According to the party, the lack of vocational schools means that there are no alternatives for students who do not qualify for VSBO or SBO. According to the party, there are many young people who like to work with their hands, but they have nowhere to go. And are therefore often left out.

The party advocates the reintroduction of a vocational school. The party wants to focus on the social, communicative, administrative, financial and business aspects of the courses. At the new school, the party wants to offer training to become a mechanic, electrician, furniture maker, construction worker, dyer, fashion designer, baker, and chef.
