WILLEMSTAD - Hotel Kura Hulanda in Otrobanda has a permanent new owner. On Wednesday, months after the purchase agreement, the notarial deed was signed.
According to lawyer Arend de Winter, this is a major step in further development. “This is important for Curaçao, that after ten years of muddling through in Otrobanda, new life is being breathed.”
The hotel already announced a temporary closure at the end of July due to the renovation and remodeling. Now that the new owners of BMG Asset Management bv have met the purchase price, they received the property yesterday.
BMG Asset Management has big plans for Kura Hulanda. The aim is for a combination of rental housing, including for seniors, and a hotel with approximately forty rooms. The owners want to make agreements with the ROC Mondriaan for the hotel. “That will contribute to the economy of Curaçao and the training for tourism.”
