WILLEMSTAD - After Kura Hulanda Otrobanda, the resort at Westpunt has now also been bought by local investors. The hotel is owned by Punta Kalki Beach Resort. This group consists of eight local investors, including the people behind the Bed & Bike hostels.
The group bought the resort for almost 10.5 million guilders. The hotel should open in mid-2023. The group also wants to 'create a complete tourist area near Westpunt', where everyone is welcome; also the people of Bandabou. This means that Playa Kalki remains accessible to beach visitors. The former hotel of Jacob Gelt Dekker is now being thoroughly renovated.
