WILLEMSTAD - Friday is the last day to design a new emblem for Curaçao. In July, the government asked all residents to contribute ideas about the design of a new emblem.
All residents aged twelve years and older may submit their design. According to the government, an emblem contributes to growth and national pride. That is why a participatory process has been started to design a new emblem by the locals.
The conditions for the design include language: the slogan must be in Papiamento. The emblem may also contain a maximum of fifteen colors and must contain characteristic local elements.
