WILLEMSTAD - People who left the island after March 16 and want to return must pay the quarantine costs themselves. This was confirmed by the government this week.
People who had no intention of returning before May 8 (the day the lockdown was lifted) will also have to pay if they want to return now.
On March 16, the borders of Curaçao were closed. The government says that a departure afterward was at your own risk. The expenses are to pay for accommodation, food, transport, and a test for the coronavirus.
This is for the 14-day mandatory quarantine.
