WILLEMSTAD - Liemarvin Bonevacia misses the final of the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, USA. The Curaçaoan finished sixth in his heat of the semifinals and that is not enough to advance to the final.
On Friday evening Bonevacia won a silver medal with the relay team in the 4x400 meters. The Dutch record was broken with a time of 3.09.90. In the series, Bonevacia ran a time of 45.82 and qualified for the semi-finals.
The semi-final was the athlete's fourth race in six days. His time of 45.50 was more than a second above his Dutch record. American Michael Norman was the fastest of the three heats in the semifinals.
