WILLEMSTAD - The lien on bank balances of the Foundation for Student Finance Curaçao (SSC) by training agency Experientia is lifted. That was decided by the judge on Monday.
The case between the two authorities has been going on for more than two years. The judge previously ruled that SSC had to pay an amount of almost 687,000 guilders to Experientia. The training agency was attracted by the former management of SSC to prepare students for their education.
SSC stated that the agreement with the training agency expired in 2018 and that Experientia was only entitled to the money amount of the work before the end of the cooperation. The foundation was able to prove in court that more than 869,000 guilders have already been paid for this period.
According to the judge, Experientia abused its power by executing a previous sentence. "The court will therefore suspend the execution of the sentence in this exceptional case," the judge ruled.
