WILLEMSTAD - Minister of Economic Development Ruisandro Cijntje has met with the transport and logistics sector. Four concrete agreements emerged from the meeting. For example, the importers' association will conduct an inventory among its members to determine the scarcity of products. Container handler CPS will ensure that the 27 containers with flour that are stuck in France are transported to Curaçao.
The ministry is also going to tap into its contacts in the region. The ministry wants to be less dependent on Europe for food. Cijntje will present an action plan in the Council of Ministers next week with solutions to the current logistical problems. The main goal is to ensure that the store shelves remain stocked.
