WILLEMSTAD - With three months to go, the number of births in Curaçao for this year seems to be declining significantly.
The counter now stands at more than 1100, which would eventually bring 2020 to around 1500 new babies.
The civil registrar’s office indicated that normally, an average of 1,900 babies are added each year. The effect of the lockdown as a result of the corona crisis is not yet measurable. That can only be seen in December and January, 9 months after a curfew was instituted in Curaçao.
