WILLEMSTAD - It does not appear that the government and parliament attach much value to the work of the Court of Audit. This can be concluded from the annual report of the Court of Audit.
The Court of Audit's advice often does not result in a response from the relevant minister or the secretary-general. When there is a response, they usually asks for extra time to respond and then nothing happens.
The Court of Auditors complains about the government's attitude and asks for change. Only one of the reports issued by the Court of Auditors in 2021 was dealt with by the central committee.
