WILLEMSTAD - Former Kumun political leader and political commentator Luigi Faneyte received death threats yesterday. A man on Facebook wrote that the politician deserves a bullet in the head.
Faneyte has reported this to the criminal investigation department. According to the former political leader, the letter he sent to President of Parliament Charetti America-Francisca would have been the reason for the death threat.
In that letter, he criticized the MFK for interfering with the investigation into the Minister of Finance. Party chairman Sithree van Heydoorn and also Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport (OWCS) wants an investigation into the allegations against party colleague Javier Silvania.
The two bodyguards of the finance minister resigned last week. In a report they accuse him of all kinds of abuses in the workplace. According to Faneyte, it seems that the governing party wants to cover up the abuses. Opposition parties PAR and MAN also denounce MFK's approach and urge an independent investigation.
