WILLEMSTAD - A major fire has been raging at the Mal Pais landfill since Saturday at the end of the day. The huge cloud plume can be seen from a great distance.
Video footage on social media shows a large number of car tires on fire. According to some reports, the tires were deliberately lit.
Air traffic, among others, would be hindered by smoke development.
No official announcements have been made and the situation is not under control as far as we know.
