WILLEMSTAD - Otrobanda was startled by a major fire this morning. Around five o'clock a report came in to the fire brigade that a large building in the area behind the Netto Bar was on fire.
It is a dilapidated building that is still partly inhabited. Photos show that little is left of the building.
All residents were able to get out of the burning house in time. But a spokesman for the police Imro Zwerwer said that unfortunately several animals have been killed by smoke.
The fire did not spread to surrounding buildings.
