Major price differences in sale of hand sanitizer bottles and face masks

Local | By Correspondent October 6, 2020

WILLEMSTAD - The Consumers' Association has visited 24 pharmacies and supermarkets in the past period to compare the prices of, among other things, hand sanitizers, face masks, gloves, cleaning cloths and thermometers.

According to the association, there are major price differences between the items that are widely sold during the corona crisis. For example, the same hand sanitizer costs 7 guilders more at Botika Brievengat than at Centrum Mahaai. The same face masks are ten guilders more expensive at Bon Bini Supermarkt than at Mangusa Hypermarket.

Substantial price differences were also found for other products. The survey took place between September 8 and 14. The consumer association has published the price differences today. And advises everyone to be aware of how they spend their money and where do they buy these items.
