WILLEMSTAD - The police checked a total of 311 cars and 219 people on Friday evening. That resulted in 124 fines.
The traffic check took place in collaboration with the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee and the Volunteer Corps Curaçao at various locations in the city. As usual, most fines were issued for missing vehicle documents.
The Public Prosecution collected 1,071 guilders in outstanding fines, with 17 drivers making payment arrangements. Four Venezuelan women were arrested and transferred to the SDKK prison to await their deportation.
