WILLEMSTAD - The political party MAN accepts the agreement with the Netherlands. Party leader and Minister of Economic Development Dr. Steven Martina has just announced this in a press conference. In combination with the consensus kingdom law, the MAN faction gives its approval, Martina says. Tomorrow, parliament will decide whether to agree.
Previously, the MAN said it would not want a consensus kingdom law, but now Martina says this is important for the financial support that Curaçao so desperately needs. The MAN party is also pleased with the name change from CHE to OHO, which means that the entity set up by the Dutch government functions more like a bank in terms of financing.
The role of the entity is more limited, according to Martina, so there is now no other authority than the government.
