WILLEMSTAD – Police arrested a 45-year-old man early Sunday morning on suspicion of assault and making death threats following an incident on Cadushistraat. The incident occurred during the early hours of the morning near a hospitality establishment.
At approximately 3:43 a.m., the police dispatch center received a report of an assault and threat at a business on Cadushistraat, after which a patrol unit from Montaña was sent to the scene. According to the initial investigation, a verbal altercation had taken place between a man and a woman.
During the argument, the man allegedly punched the woman in the head with his fist and subsequently threatened her with death. Police officers found the suspect at the scene. The man, identified by the initials E.R.C.N., is 45 years old and was born on Curaçao.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of assault and threats and was brought before an assistant public prosecutor. His pretrial detention has been ordered pending further investigation by the Korps Politie Curaçao.
