MAN can do little to prevent name leaks

Local | By Correspondent May 13, 2019

WILLEMSTAD - The political party MAN regrets that Neysa Schoop-Isenia has withdrawn her candidacy for the function of minister of economic development but at the same time understands her decision. She was the best candidate appointed by a committee of the blue party to succeed Minister Steven Martina when he withdrew due to a criminal investigation against him.

The events left a bitter taste to MAN chairman Ives Schoop and, if it is up to him, heads will start rolling at the Central Bank. After all, they brought out a memo about the candidate minister, while they should not have done so at all. “The bank went out of its way to stop our candidate from becoming minister,” said Schoop.

Moreover, Schoop believes that the memo does not put a stain on Schoop-Isenia's name. In the meantime, a new candidate must be found. The committee that previously dealt with this is being revived.
