WILLEMSTAD - An unknown man tried to rob or hijack a Curoil fuel truck on Monday. The man climbed the stairs of the tanker onto the vehicle. The police are investigating the case.
The driver saw the unknown man climb onto the tanker and drove quickly to the Rio Canario police station, after which the man fled. According to Curoil, this is a 'reckless action', especially because the cargo of the tanker was combustible.
Curoil emphasizes that safety measures for the transport of dangerous goods have been tightened to protect both employees and other road users. According to the company, drivers also carry no cash with them.
