WILLEMSTAD - Yesterday a man drowned right off the coast at the Vlakte San Pedro. That is close to the windmills near the Tera Kòrá neighborhood.
He was standing there on the rocks catching snails when he got caught by a wave and fell into the ocean. The rough seas made it difficult for the victim to keep his head above water and eventually drowned.
The lifeless body of the victim was removed from the water and brought ashore by the Coast Guard helicopter. His name will be announced later, when all family has been notified.
