WILLEMSTAD - Only if all MPs are willing to decrease their salaries by ten percent, the MAN faction will do the same, says the Member of Parliament of the blue party Eugene Cleopa. His party wants to cut all MPs' salaries by 10 percent, as part of the government's austerity measures, but the motion did not make it last month.
Last Monday, Member of Parliament Wimbert Hato said in the media that his party has not yet decided whether the MAN fraction will decrease by 10 percent. The motion to voluntarily decrease salaries by 10 percent made it, but Hato said his party is still talking about it.
Cleopa is clearer: all members of parliament must hand in ten percent, otherwise, the MAN group will not do it either.
