WILLEMSTAD - On Curaçao, a 45-year-old man escaped from the hotel on Saturday where he was obliged to be quarantined. He arrived from the Netherlands a week before.
The Curaçao Minister of Justice, Quincy Girigorie, confirmed this last Saturday.
Residents of Curaçao have been allowed to return to the island since last month, but they must then be quarantined for fourteen days to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
According to Girigorie, the man had indicated several times in recent days that he was tired of quarantine.
The man returned to the hotel and will remain there until the end of his quarantine. It was on Sunday morning when authorities spoke with him about the situation and took him back to the hotel. It was through a family member that the authorities were able to get in contact with the man.
