WILLEMSTAD – The mantle and crown for the Rei òf Reina di Tumba 2026 were officially presented on Thursday evening during a press conference hosted by AMAK (Associashon di Músiko i Artista di Kòrsou). Designer Ludgene Balentien revealed his latest creation, which will be worn tonight by the winner of the Tumba finale.
Balentien has been responsible for designing and crafting the mantle and crown for the Tumba competition for the past twelve years. This year’s design once again stands out for its meticulous craftsmanship and traditional elements, reflecting the cultural significance of the festival. The presentation marks the final official moment ahead of the much-anticipated finale.

Thirty tumbero’s, including nine female performers, will compete in the Tumba 2026 final. All are vying for the prestigious title of Rei òf Reina di Tumba and the honor of wearing the crown throughout the Carnival season.
The Tumba finale is considered one of the highlights of Curaçao’s Carnival festivities and traditionally attracts a large audience. With the unveiling of the mantle and crown, the stage is set for a decisive evening where music, competition, and tradition come together, culminating in the crowning of the Tumba monarch for 2026.
